We needed some girl time, so my parents flew my sister in law, Cydnee, out for a week of super fun! She had made a wish list of things she wanted to do while she was here and we had a grand time. Activities included going garage sale-ing. That morning, we were to lazy to bother unhooking the trailer attached to the Tahoe but it turns out that was a good thing! We probably gave a lot of people false hope though; 6 women piling out of the big car...pulling a trailer no less! It wasn't until the very last stop that we hit the jack pot! It was in a really nice neighborhood and the family was moving to Vienna, and thus selling nearly everything in the house...even down to the partly used spices in the pantry. They had hired a company to come run the sale (and I am pretty sure those fellas were gay! It was hilarious! "Oh," they's say as they grabbed your hand, "you need to come over here and look at this!" We got there later in the afternoon and started wandering through the house gathering. Kayla wanted some Tupperware for college and when those fellas heard that they got a black garbage bag and started filling it with ALL the Tupperware plus other kitchen stuff, "Oh, this is plastic! You need this! $2 for the bag!" We had amassed a substantial pile when they came around handing out grocery bags saying that we could fill the bags with anything for a flat $5. Well gosh, we better go look around some more! How many bags can I have? When Cydnee started feeling a little whoozy they pulled out a loaf of bread, boxes of crackers and water bottles "for the pregnant ladies! We have a full service operation here!"
Finally, we were ready to start sorting through our huge pile of stuff. It took up half the formal dining room. You must realize that we hadn't even gone through it ourselves and narrowed down at all. So we brought one of the happy helper fellas over to start working the bargains. He looked at our pile and said, "How about you take it all for 25 bucks?" Needless to say our jaws dropped, I gave him and hug, and we decided to have yet another look around! They gave us big plastic bins ("Oh, you can take to bin too honey!") and told Cyd and I to go into the girls rooms and fill it with whatever we wanted and it would be included in the $25. They also gave a beautiful white rolling bassinet priced at $75 to Cydnee for $5. Making our grand total $30.
These pics seriously don't do the sheer volume justice. We are trying to make a 30! Pretty much everything you see is from the sale, not including the couches or table ;)
