So it was the third trip down there and we were getting a little discouraged. We started looking at houses, then condos, then apartments and finally renting options....it was lame. I really felt like were doing our home work beforehand and yet nothing was working out. We were looking at places that were either too expensive (making us feel like we wouldn't really be trying to get out of debt if we lived there) or too far away from school or absolute holes! it was really lame. nothing felt good. Nothing fit. Then, after a dismal lunch that day, we went to an apartment complex and met Han-Mei. She was great. And I think it started fitting when we met her! Hmm, appropriate, i think. Anyway, this place is about 2 miles from school, gated and safe, big trees and lawn within complex with a pool and a spa! we got a ground floor place with 2 bed, 2 bath, washer and dryer, good storage, great windows, and really nicely kept! It just has everything needed and wanted!!
Now here is the fun part, dear Han-Mei was a great salesperson. she would bring up things here and there (now you have to imagine these in her voice): "an you know being on gwoun flo woo make electricity biw less" "This flo pran atuly ony $625...and you studen so you hab a extra 5% off, so ony $603" (when asked about electrity prices) "Wew, it matter what company you use, so you could caww around and get a crow" (that would be "get a quote")!!
It was great! wish you guys could have been their. Needless to say, we were seeing dollar signs. this was a good 200 less then the next cheapest hole we had looked at. so we put it on hold right then and faxed the application and mailed and checks and we are good to go for July 15th!! we are pretty stoked.
That is our happy.
