A history cooking lesson

Today in history we read about the destruction and scattering of the Jewish nation. It's not an LDS curriculum but it is still facinating to learn about how chistinity began its influence of the world. 

Anyway, our awesome curriculum often has activities and crafts and sometimes recipes that go along with the chapter. So for lunch today we made Jewish Hanukkah Latkehs. 

They are basically fried hash brown patties...shredded potatoes, onions, eggs, flour, salt n pepper. And fried! But unlike our traditional hash browns, these are often served with a sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon along with applesauce, jams, and sour cream. Very tasty.
