A hot date with my main squeeze!
I was good with patronizing an old favorite for my birthday...it was Lee who insisted we go somewhere facier for my 30th. [shrug] OK.
So on many recomendations from Lee's co-workers we went somewhere fancy.
Whiskey Cake.
So named for it's signature dessert.
I am not a cake person...but this...
It was so decadant it had to be eaten with a spoon. Lee was going to order one for each of us but (luckily) our server stopped us. Thank goodness he did. We barely finished this peice.
This cake was heavy...super dense and oh-so-moist. Swimming in a fudge n caramel n cream sauce, topped with spicy candied pecans, and even a candle. They served it with a separate bowl of fresh heavy whipped cream. We were both groaning before we even got to the car!
The place was marketed as a "kitchen and bar." Most of thier menu consisted of alcohol..but they did have these fancy fresh fruit drinks (essientially "mocktails") that were FABULOUS!
And I should have gotten a vid or pic of Sam, he was hilarious and totally hiper in that atmosphere for some reason. It was so fun to be with Lover Lee and Silly Sam for my birthday!
