Vintage Cycling Does Not Equal Safety

So the guy that wrote Lee his letter of recommendation for TCOM is also known as "The Hat Doc". He signs his name like that and everything. There was a dinner at their house earlier in the year and he showed us his "hat room"...totaling around 500 hats! He sometimes does work in trade for a cool foreign hat, so these are not your trucker caps or anything. One of his greatest stories is how he got the Pope's Kippah (skull cap). He was in Rome and the Pope was coming down the street. He had previously purchased a kippah as a souvenir but as the Pope passed he leaned out with his hat in his hand...and then the Pope took that hat and swapped it with his own!! wow huh. He even has a helmet with a swastika on it?!? Anyway, in thanks, Lee found this vintage cycling helmet.
So it's so cool....but foam and a little plastic? And another thing, have our heads grown bigger in recent generations or something?
